The Marblehead Housing Coalition supports increased housing choice for:
-
People who want to keep or make Marblehead home: Young adults who want to live where they were raised, empty nesters who want to stay in Marblehead but want to downsize, new families and families who need room to grow, our seniors who live independently or who need supportive services, people who need accessible homes and single floor living.
-
People who are struggling to stay in their homes because the cost of living in Marblehead is becoming prohibitive.
-
Our teachers, police officers, firefighters and town employees along with workers in our local businesses, so they can fully participate in the community they serve.
-
Prospective new residents and their families, regardless of background, who want to move to Marblehead and feel included in the community.
-
A clean, safe, walkable, and active community.
-
Economic development to capture new growth taxation.
-
Our role in the Commonwealth’s and the nation’s efforts to meet the challenge of housing demand across the country.
-
Maximizing partnership and funding opportunities with the state and federal governments.
